Has anyone taken that exam in past years? Was it difficult? Did you study much? Detials people...

Yes I have.

I received a 4 on it. All in all it was not too hard. Something that did help is that basically, the teacher had us do a response in class that almost mirrored the AP History question.

made a 5, not too much studying, looked at practice book for sample exams (but i did that throughout the whole year, those questions showed up often on our tests) sheesh, cant believe that was 4 years ago, junior in college now..dang time flies!!

it really depends on how good your history teacher was. Like erub, I made a 5 and found it fairly easy but your mileage may vary.

Any idea on how many I can leave out for a 5 ? I've been getting mid60's correct on practice tests...

Well the best thing to do would've been to really study your arse off, so you wouldnt have to leave that many out.

If you can get it down to 2 choices, guess.

If you have no clue, don't even bother.

The problem is that the scores are variable based on the relative scores of everyone who takes a test in a given year. Last year you may have been able to skip 50 questions and still get a 5...this year you may skip 10 and still get a 4.

In my US class we never got beyond WW1 because we spent time actually looking at things in depth.

Regardless of that, I still got a 5 with no studying.

i took it last year. That test was overall pretty easy. I found the multiple choice really easy but the essays a little more difficult especially one of them where i didnt remember the topic at all. i didnt study for the exam at all because i remembered most of what was taught in my class pretty easily and i got a 4 on it.

Well time to get off these boards. I'll be back on for the 24 thread. Thanks Zim 🙂

I've tasted a 5 in European History last year, I'm between 4 and 5 but I guess i'll have to wait 2 months* for them to score my test.

*or some ridiculous amount of time

God the amount of times I've said i'm going to study and ended up spending hours on these boards. 🙁

I'm the bad boy who got caught by the CB. REad my story on College Confidential.

Junior year: I knew history better than 99% of the people. I got a 4 because I panicked on my last essay and it didn't come out too well. Plus the fact that my DBQ was probably only OK.

Senior year: Oh man. 2 weeks of cramming, I still wasn't as well rehearsed but I GOT MY FRIGGN 5 SO SUCK IT COLLEGEBOARD.

Took it last year and breezed through with a 3. Doesn't sound like much, but when you think that I'm doing engineering next year and don't have to take a SINGLE history class, it all makes sense.

U.S. History and U.S. Government APs were relatively easy. But man, did i LOATHE DBQs. hated hated hated hated those things.

good luck!

I get to take it Friday...Just took the AP English Language today....I don't mind DBQ's, really...My history teacher (who is THE best...) thinks the DBQ will be from....(read down if you want to know his thoughts)....

1860s-1880s.....

Fun fun fun!!!

they love reconstruction.

They do, but I don't....He says two of the essays will probably be...

WWII & the Cold War

Vietnam

Sweet...I rock in both those areas....
I love history...I screwed up this year...We didn't have enough interest in an AP Euro class, so AP US was all...Remember Smith's Frontier Thesis...US history is European history+the frontier...Should have taken AP Euro...oh well, I can next year!! 😀

6 years ago. Think I got a 3. Didn't study for it. Didn't help me. Wasted my money. Tired of the AP threads.

I have to disagree. cold war and vietnam overlap in timeline. I think you will have 1 but not both.

I think the policy of containment overlaps both vietnam and cold war.

Oh and personally I find it disgusting how colleges buy into this college board stuff. It's all about money. Seriously if every student in highschool for 1 year didn't take the SAT/AP/etc... it would be huge!

Bah the moment of glory is nothing more than dream....

My teacher says to expect an essay topic on the Cold War or Colonial America. But we'll see soon.

He also said an essay on the Jackson administration is overdue

I thought it was E? No but I don't want anyone to get screwed by those SOBs.

Also remember that the Hudson River School painted landscapes (this question was on every single practice AP test and was also on the real AP test) and memorize obscure bills and compromises such as the Wade-Davis Bill and the Dawes Act.

I hated those obscure bills.
