I've got AP US History next Friday...My teacher is very demanding and purposely makes the questions on the tests harder than the ones on the actual AP exam. Should be a piece of cake.

At least it's not an English AP test. ;)

was going to be taking Regular English, English Lit, Spanish, and Calculus, but I think I'm only taking English and Calculus now. My college (Wabash) doesn't accept AP credits I guess.

Good luck on Euro. My teacher wasn't that great and we didn't learn as much as we should have. Hopefully yours prepared you well enough! It wasn't too bad, but I was content to walk out of that with a 3.

Good luck to everybody on their tests.

In my experience, AP wasn't all that great at all. The courses were excellent, and they did get me ahead, but I chose not to use the standing for university (btw, you don't actually get credit for anything in university... all you get is an exemption from taking the equivalent class). I decided to take all honours level courses in first year instead of exempting myself and going on to second year level courses and I'm glad I did.

Thanks! I have a really good teacher and I've been getting 5's on the multiple choice on practice exams (old exams from college board). I'm feeling pretty confident, just worried about the FRQs.

AP Macro Econ.
AP Stat.
AP Enviro. Sci.
AP US Gov. and Politics
AP Psych.

Taking all of them in the next 2 weeks

I took Euro History, Comp Sci, and American History in past years.

Oh yeah, and this is Florida, so we don't have to play for the tests if we arent failing the class. We do have to pay if we don't show up for them though.

Really? Wow, I'm surprised. I got full credit for a total of a year's worth of classes here at a Big Ten school and I thought it was the norm.

If you're a senior and are already accepted into a college that won't take AP scores, don't take them. In any other situation, I would suggest you go for it because you might end up going to a school that accepts them and $70 or whatever it is now is more than worth it to get credit for the classes.

This is coming from a person who has almost 60% of his credits and is just finishing up his second semester, believe me it helps :)

My teacher fux0r3d us on the Euro History when I took it. What they usually do is they test broadly on everything, but really focus on one specific time period and give it to you there. Well in the year previous to mine they hit hard on the inter-war period, so our teacher made sure we knew plenty about the causes of WWI, the events in it, the reparitions etc, and the reasons for WWII. When it came time for our provincial exam, we all aced that part of it, but the AP exam focused mainly on the late 1800s and also on the middle east in the 1970s-1990s. We spent a grand total of 3 days covering all that material, so we knew NOTHING. I think our entire class averaged about a 2 or 3 on it, and I think there were only a few 4s.

Oh well, not like I was gonna declare a History major anyways :)

Agnitrate:

Naw, all I got was a thing saying that I could skip right ahead into second year calc (didn't care about my history as I was going into science). No credit, just exemption.

I did challenge the course and paid $125 to take the final exam... I got about a 75% on it I think (really could have done better), and that is what made me decide to take the first year honours classes. I'm so glad I did because I learned so much more over 2 semesters with a Prof who gradded from MIT with a Ph.D in number theory than I could have from 1 semester with a high school teacher :)

So what? That wasn't uncommon at my school.

My dad can beat up your dad.

At least I didn't fall asleep with my cock in my hand.

(Ok, so posting inside jokes with non-internet friends is kind of pointless on an internet message forum. Sue me).
