AP/bridge or router?

This will be used to connect an XBOX 360 located in another room. The XBOX 360 official wireless adapter costs about as much as an AP/bridge or a router. I was thinking of getting a Linksys WRT54GL and installing DD-WRT for this application. Are there any AP/bridge suggestions that may be comparable, or would the Linksys be a better option? Thanks for any help.

if you have a Fry's near you. You can get (2) AR430W for $20 bucks a pop. Flash to dd-wrt and run it as WDS. That's what I use right now and it's been rock solid.
