Head over and check it out.

Bandwidth is outstanding and async DDR333 does help a little. 3D performance could use some tweaking. It looks like the beta BIOS is not well optimized so I believe retail boards should do considerably better than GB at about half the price.

Now that Newegg is carrying this board for $125, has anyone gotten one yet that would like to comment on it ?

I called Aopen and the support there said it did not support hyper threading which means its a AO stepping.

That's odd.
If you see the pictures of the board on newegg site, you will see hyper threading written on the box, the last one.
It seems some of this board are coming without chipset fan. The picture on Aopen site has no fan on it.

Yea I know but Newegg doesn't say anything about it being a BO chipset. Neither does Aopen's website. The AO can support Hyper threading but when it is enabled you lose some of the power saving options.

Hi all,

I contact AOpen tech support and their Sales.
They have confirm that AX45-4D Max is supporting Hyper-Threading.
And it's using B0 chipset !!
Great Board !!

The Aopen AX45-4D Max seems to hit the sweet spot of price/features compared to other SIS 655 boards. The reviews elsewhere were positive. Any first hand report here?

I have been checking and comparing it to those mentioned frequently here and am convinced that the Aopen is a much better value and equal performer.
