Both are $69 at NewEgg. I'm planning to overclock a mobile XP 2200+ or 2400+, but will be doing nothing too aggressive. I'm not interested in looking for the last mhz, just making a good leap in mhz. Is there any difference between the two I should know about. AOpen is a lesser known name, but the reviews I've read are mostly positive.

Edit: considering the price, I should also add the Abit NF7.

I've used the aopen board, and it runs great as long as you don't try to run the multiplier setting higher than 11.5 or 12. The settings go higher, but the board defaults back to a multiplier setting of 6.0 if you try to run above 12. The abit nf7-s is the only board I've read about that might go higher on the multiplier setting. Aopen, epox, and abit all have good customer support, and I've talked to their techs either through email or by phone.

Seems like a lot of folks are running into trouble with Epox (but it may just be that the Epox are cheap and people who shouldn't be messing around inside a computer, do it anyway..). I'd go with the AOpen.

For what its worth...

I've been running the AOpen board (AK79D-400VN) with a Barton 2500 at 200MHz FSB for almost a year now.

No problems at all.
