AOL users find 'You win!' doesn't necessarily mean 'You win!'

Imagine that. The contest rules allow a computer glitch.

My guess is this is a lot of people. AOL could easily settle for the 10 or so people who may have gotten it.

And just what kind of computer can you get for 5 grand?! Even an Alienware system with monitor wouldn't break 4 grand.

Oops, forgot to expound. What I meant to say before getting up to go to the microwave is that Alt + Print Screen would've been handy. But it's lost on me now.

This is news? Wait, maybe they weren't referring to AOL itself this time.

...to take a snapshot of the screen (for your own benefit)

How much negative publicity will they get for not handing out the prizes? There's probably a lawsuit floating around as well.

Why not just own up to it and pass out the winnings?

How dome of AOL. Do they people running the company use it as well? Sure seems like it...rather than have good publicity and making everything sound good, they held up this lady's hopes for a month just to tell her that she hadn't won jack. Then again...a $200 gift certificate to Amazon or Target + 3 months of AOL isn't too bad for a simple computer glitch, but c'mon...they've got around 30 million members each paying around $25 a month? I think they can afford to have given out the computers to those 12 people...heck, it probably costs them less than those lawyers they have write the fine print...
