AOL Trouble

A friend of mine has AOL 8.0 and is able to access her email and News Page. The trouble starts when she tries to access the the WWW. She cannot bring up any web pages. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. She has called AOL and gotten 5 different suggestions which have not worked.

With AOL 6 (or was it 7?) I had a similar problem. Often the only way to browse was to open a separate IE window, and not use AOL's browser.

From what I recall reading on their help pages, there were plenty of people with the same problem. I would have expected them to solve this by now.

Yeah, I had this same problem a while back after I upgraded to AOL7.0. AOL gave me some suggestions, but they didn't work. I just checked it a few days ago and it actually worked. The only thing I did since the problem first appeared was install some MS patched/updates -- I have a broadband connection outside of AOL, so internet access was possible for me. I don't know if that was the fix for me, but it might be worth a try if you have access.
