AOL problem on Windows ME

Trying to help a friend fix her computer. She has a gateway with 191 meg of ram 😱 a P III @ 900 something mhz. Problem is her pogo games in AOL come up with a java out of memory error but the games will play on IE just fine.

She is running AOL 7 and I think she should upgrade to 9 and maybe get rid of win ME

But $$ is a factor on the upgrades too.

Anybody have a idea to this problem?

I remember that friends (that used to have AOL) would have similar problems. AOLs built in web browser sucks, so a lot of sites don't work correctly, and a lot of times they load slow. Maybe this is fixed in AOL9, but I would just use IE.

AOL and ME is about the worst combination you can get. Are either one of you students? Maybe that woudl be a way to get an affordable upgrade to at least 2k.
