[crying a river]help me please[/crying a river]

Isn't all the AOL mail stored on an online sever were you can access it anywere? (like through aol .com)?

Why are you still using AOL?

Depends on the version you had but just search for an "Organize" folder. Thats where it all will be.its either going to be in c:\program files\America Online 9.0\Organize or somewhere in your documents and settings. (again depends on the version.)

Unless you specifically ask for a download, all AOL mail is stored on the AOL server by default.

Not really when you first install it it asks if you want to auto save to your PC. If you don't auto save to your PC it goes into your old mail folder unless you move it else where after you read it and is deleted automatically in 4 days (depends on your settings default is 4, but max is 7)

Anything in your saved on AOL folders you have to manually put there.

I have had a backup AOL email box for over ten years - and you are right - you have to specify initially how you want to deal with your mail. It's a great backup system when travelling abroad. But - if you make no choices, the default is it will be retained at AOL. That's what I said. 🙂

the computer isnt for me, and if it were, there is no way in hell i would save it to the hard drive. i have no clue how to use AOL. i formatted the computer for a friend and wasnt made aware that there were emails which needed to be saved. i never imagined that at this time with all the free email space available that anyone would store it on the computer. ill let you guys know if i find it in the recovered files...thanks for all the help so far.
