AOL: Love It or Hate IT? New: MS Love it or Hate IT?

Googer

Lifer
If you like or Hate AOL, Please Express and share you Love or Anger with AOL Here. If you do not like AOL Please Expain your reasoning for not liking them.

Just added simply because I feel like it:

Microsoft love it or hate it? I am really pissed now at Windows XP SP2, why in the world do we nedd a service running in services.msc in order to hear sound from our audio cards? What a load of bs. Also MS will no longer allow you to recieve up dates unless you have automatic up dates running on your pc; It's all just more junk to slow things down. Go linux go! Die MS and let the Justice Department break you up.

They did a lot in bringing the internet into people's homes. The service now can be better and cheaper but it's still an acceptable solution for the computer iliterate.

AOL Customer Service is top notch, I have never found another company as willing to please as AOL.

I've never had any experience with AOL. But I do hate their advertising campaigns. With a strong passion.

I did have a friend who had AOL who I loved to talk to, but they were always being disconnected, or the AOL browser didn't show them stuff correctly. It was a pain in the ass.

Agreed, they do have a very annoying television advertisment campaign.

made me smile 😀

Anyway, AOL, i don't like how they send me 19 1000hours free CD's in the mail every day, what they do: send you the CD and take their time canceling the service when the 1000hours rolls around.

Haven't you guys ever dealth with this? AOL is a bunch of a-holes.

my parents still use and pay for it, so i have had the same aol account since AOL first came out for windows ten years ago. all i can say is they made the internet safe and fun for families and children, and though their software is bloated and slow, i have never been unsatisfied with the service and features. thankfully, they have recently allowed you to choose which features you do NOT want installed, which is something that has been missing since version 1.0.

currently i use AOL Communicator, which is their thunderbird-esque standalone mail client, and i am very satisfied with it. finally they have churned out a product that works properly and is customizable and user-friendly.

unfortunately, their competitors have equally great products. and they're free.

I have no strong feelings one way or the other.

I think AOL provides a valuable service, but this service is of no use to me.

to hell with aol...i had to use them a long time ago, when that was what my grandparents had as an isp...it sucked balls...it was 5 times slower than regular dial up, installed a bunch of bloatware, and pages wouldnt load properly 25% of the time...so yeah  @ aol

Why? Please just don't say you hate something with out giving a reason first.

I love AOL. I was using 6mb Speakeasy until I decided to switch to AOL. Now I can access AOL Broadband music streams and I don't have to read the "AOL User profiles are not available through AIM" message.

I would blame the improper page loads on The Internet Explorer source code that AOL relies on for its web browsing. IE is notorious for not adhereing to standard protocols like CSS and SSL.
