Is there a way to check the chat log after you close the chat window? Is there a hidden, cached file or something? Assuming you haven't close the AIM program itself yet... Thanks.

you need to enable "logging"..

AIM 4.3 had it.. however there is a way to turn it on.. search for otehr AOL regarded messages in the past few days.

well, AIM 4.4 has a loggin feature. If you install AIM+ you get a logging feature as well. AFAIK those are the only ways to keep a log, inly you use resource hacker to hack a logging mechanism into it.

Where can I find logging? I'm using 4.7. Would it bring back previous dialogs if I have already closed the chat window, but haven't closed the program itself yet?

logging was discontinued by AIM after 4.4 you need AIM+ to get logs, or search the net on how to hack a logger into you current version.

Just download AIM+, do a search for it. its an excellent program.

trillian has a neat loggin feature 🙂

btw, if you hack your current version, there's something where if you hit the log button or something, it'll crash. so you have to go through explorer to view your logs basically.

Nevermind, I found the logging thing for Trillian. I'll have to try the AIM+ thing if I stick to using AIM, although I'm leaning towards getting rid of all the Instant Messengers if Trillian can do the job. Thanks for the help guys. Much appreciated!
