AOL DSL

I saw that AOL offers DSL in some areas for about $20DSL+$20ISP. Does anyone have experience with AOL DSL? I would like to know about upstream/downstream rates and if it could be used with a static IP address to run a server.

A few things, AOL ISP is 24.XX not 20.

Also, I am sure you will be passing thourgh AOL's plethora of nasty, nasty proxies🙁

if u can get dsl or cable from a local provider and get AOL as BYOA (bring your own access) so it would be isp + 9.99 a month for aol. thats what i do, my dads company pays for the dsl anyways..so its cheap for me.

Thanks, Yes now I have AOL + bring your own access using cable internet but the upstream rate is terrible so I can't run a server. I priced 1 Mbps up/downstream DSL at about $150/month which is a little pricey for me. Guess I may have to pay up for DSL to get a server going. I wish @Home would offer to upcap the upstream for say double the normal monthly fee. 🙂
