AOL has agreed to settle a pair of class action lawsuits brought on behalf of subscribers to the online services of AOL and its CompuServe unit. They allege AOL and CompuServe continued to bill them after the plaintiffs asked for their subscriptions to be cancelled.

this happened to me and every friend that was on aol in the past. took months to actually get the darn thing cancled

Earthlink plays these games too, and makes it very difficult to cancel your account.

On top of making it hard to cancel, their support is in India. Called once and I couldn't understand a thing the guy said. Just that should be enough for a lawsuit.
