AOE II: The Conquerer's Expansion Disk Problem

I need help,

The other day 3 of my friends and I wanted to play a massive multiplayer game of AOE 2: The Conquerer's but the computer wouldn't let us. It said that the computer didn't have the CD in the drive even though it DID! The main computer had a CD and one other computer had one but the game wouldn't work with either disk. None of us could figure it out. The computer knew the disk was there because we loaded the game from it.

We all have the same version of the game too. We have played the game many many times before with no problems starting the game but this time it didn't work for some reason. None of the computers have changed hardware since the last time they were here playing. I'm am completely stumped. We restarted all the computers over and over. They all have Windows XP Pro and Home. The network was running fine too. I have checked every possible thing that we could all think of but it still no luck. We tried to get it to work for over an hour.

Does anyone have any idea why it wouldn't work?? I even tried one other way that didn't involve the CD (sort of illegal) but that didn't work either. What should I do??

Try to get an exchange for it. I had a similiar problem with my 2nd disc of generals, took it to compUSA, they let me exchanged with no questions asked.
