"Apparently all anyone has any strength or enthusiasm for is applying a literalism test on Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.)’s all-too-accurate warnings. She said recently that if we don’t start to address climate change aggressively right now, the world will end in 12 years. I know, let’s feign alarm that she has exaggerated instead of having genuine alarm about the genuine problem she is raising the red flags over. "

'The New York socialist Democrat, who co-authored the controversial Green New Deal, made headlines in January after she claimed that the “world is going to end in 12 years if we don’t address climate change,” and compared the challenge to World War II. Several Democrats have parroted that claim, including 2020 presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke. The Associated Press threw cold water on the talking point in March, saying there is “no scientific consensus” to support it. '

"The youngest woman ever elected to Congress again made headlines and sparked conservative criticism when she said Monday that she and other young Americans fear "the world is going to end in 12 years if we don't address climate change."

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., made the remark during an interview with writer Ta-Nehisi Coates at the MLK Now event in New York City celebrating the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.

Ocasio-Cortez called the fight to mitigate the effects of climate change her generation's "World War II."

"Millennials and Gen Z and all these folks that come after us are looking up, and we're like, 'The world is going to end in 12 years if we don't address climate change, and your biggest issue is how are we gonna pay for it?' " she said."

"Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) on Monday said she thinks that there is an urgency needed in addressing man-made climate change, warning that it will "destroy the planet" in a dozen years if humans do not address the issue, no matter the cost. "

These are the facts , you are not entitled to change them to fit your own narrative.

So what is she paying you to live in your head???
I've commented on about 3 different Ms. Cortez threads. Compare that to the homestead President Trump has built in the heads of almost every Democrat and liberal along with the amusement park he operates there 24/7/365 and the parties he throws every night. Big difference.

What I don’t understand is that Taj knows he’s selectively choosing to take people literally, and he knows that we know this. What is the point of all this, other than to make Taj look dumb and dishonest?

hehehe I love AoC.

People think she "pwns" others when she hilariously makes an embarssment of herself...

And yet - she continues to sow division between her and the party she ran under to get to her privileged place. Someone never taught the naughty naughty girl to not bite the hand that feeds.

Anyhow - Got my popcorn ready and am enjoying the show.

As long as you're including the list of media outlets and personnel that i so helpfully provided you can make whatever inaccurate claim you want.

Nobody is denying what was said, just that it wasn't intended to be taken literally. You exhibit exactly the behavior she describes in your AP link-

“This is a technique of the GOP, to take dry humor + sarcasm literally and ‘fact check’ it,” she tweeted. “Like the ‘world ending in 12 years’ thing, you’d have to have the social intelligence of a sea sponge to think it’s literal. But the GOP is basically Dwight from The Office so who knows."

You're duh-verting, anyway, from the subject of her encounter with Cruz & his usual lameness. Oh, you might want to read up on your social intelligence peers-

Didn't Ms. Cortez say that about 3 or 4 MONTHS (May 12) after people were laughing at her for her for her previous (Jan.22) statement? Yes she did. At least try to be reasonably honest.

Nice sponge.

You happily provide translations of Dump's word salads into English on a regular basis, and yet nitpick her grammar.

How about you tell us what "elements of medical" are?

The non-sponge members of the public understood the first time. Anybody who doesn't get it now is just being deliberately obtuse, a common & obvious form of trolling. That's particularly true when such comments are introduced as peripheral ad hominem atttack. Cruz looks like a one legged man in an ass kicking contest when he tangles with her.

You do know the vaunted award she's claiming (" “Sen Cruz, while I understand you judge people’s intelligence by the lowest income they’ve had, I hold awards from MIT Lincoln Lab &others for accomplishments in microbiology.” ) was from her participation trophy in her high school science fair?

you're a fucking garbage liar of a human.

Unmitigated and egregious personal attacks are no longer allowed here.

Kind of hard to believe a politician would represent the people instead of the levers of power, huh.

For the record, real science gets done at ISEF. I know my sister was published in Physiology & Behavior for the project she took there back in the day.

I think Taj's problem is one of jealousy. His "Is water wet?" project wasn't selected to even participate.
