Not exactly a new company - but let's say it's an old one reborn.

"Admiral Overseas Corporation (AOC) was founded in Chicago, Illinois, by Ross Siragusa as the Asian arm of his Admiral Corporation, and later established in Taiwan in 1967 as the first manufacturer of color televisions for export. In 1978, Admiral Overseas Corporation was renamed AOC International. Direct Marketing under the AOC brand name began in 1979. From 1988 to 1997, AOC established its sales offices in United States, China, Europe, and Brazil. AOC was launched in India and Mexico in 2005 and 2006 respectively. Today AOC products including CRT & LCD monitors, LCD TVs, All in One units are available in more than 40 countries globally

i bought an AOC 19" 14x9 when they first came out in the states just as a cheap test of lcd progress. it was very nice: good quality plastics, complete enough osd, decent tn panel. certainly better than the really cheap brands with soft creaky plastic bezels.

bestbuy has a special sale on this 27" ips model for sub $300 for a short time.

they really need to stop this bezel-less/'edge to edge glass' marketing crap by all the OEMs. the cover glass may reach the edge of the 2mm bezel, but the display panel pixels still stop a good 10-15mm from the edge.

It's not available at BB Canada yet. Though I'm in no rush to get one. I've got an LG display right now. It's okay but 768p is fine for gaming but 1080p is better for web browsing and reading.

AOC had pretty good reputation in the late 90's for their CRT's. I had a 17" from '99 and it was solid. Wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again.
