Anywhere to check a vin number for no charge

I am curious to check the history on my wifes car. I was wondering if anyone can recommend a sight to search using the vin number for free.

I accessed several sites, like dmv.org and such, but they all charge around twenty dollars to get the car's history. .

I don't know if such a site exists. But if your in FL, you can check the title to see if its clear or not.

you can get unlimited carfax reports for $30. may/may not be worth it.

A few months ago I was able to get a complete full report for free on autocheck.com
I just looked again and see they are charging $20

uhm insurance. no not so much. I guess i might have to pay. But i probably wont simply because i was just curious and im not necessarily willing to pay 20 or 30 bucks to satisfy my curiosity. garbage.

I've seen offers on Craigslist occasionally, you might try there, but CarFax has been pretty aggressive about not allowing people with active accounts to offer free lookups.

You can go to this insurance site to check to see if it was flood damaged by hurricanes Rita, Katrina, Wilma, etc.: Flood damage check

check craigslist, people usually sell the carfax vin lookup for a buck or two
