Wife wants to take a vacation but we're strapped for cash. Anyone know of any websites where people who have weeks at timeshares and might be about to lose their week for the year will sell the time to someone else for a really good deal?

If so, let me know.

We just want somewhere warm and preferably with a beach. heh heh. But warm is the only real strict requirement.

My roommate has timeshares in NC and FL. I know for a fact he's looking to get rid of them. I'll ask him tomorrow about it.

There are many timeshare locations that offer up weeks that the members want to rent out.

if you sell your time share do you get it for the next time

Maybe...it has to be spelled out in the sales contract.

We just sold our Maui timeshare. We had included in the sales agreement that we had the right to the unit for 2007, and the new owners took over in 2008.
It was all agreed to, the deal was finalized...and the new owners tried to cash the week in for Starpoints...Starwood, unknowingly went ahead and did this for them...until we called and raised hell when they told us we didn't have the week...took a week of calling the escrow/title companies to get it straightened out, but Starwood finally got it right. The Starwood agent who called us said they penalized the new owners for trying to fraud them out of the week...

There are dozens of legitimate timeshare selling/renting sites and companies, but for every legitimate one, there are a dozen fraudulent places as well. Do your research well before plunking down any $$$.
