Dan Henderson KTFO'ed Wandy. Then in the post fight interview, he says you could go to his afterparty at [some club], or Wandy's afterparty at the hospital.

Funny guy.
 
The word around Vegas is that Wandy was extremely sick before the fight. Apparently he spent a good portion of the days previous to the fight in the hospital, with the NSAC signing off on which drugs he could be given.

And after watching the fight several times, that's not the Wanderlei Silva we've all seen in the past. There was something very, very wrong with him. Hell, look at the first two minutes of the fight where he was on top. What did try to do? Nothing. And it's not like he was gassed in 2 minutes.

I commend him for not pulling out of the fight or using his sickness as an excuse afterwards.

 
the gomi diaz fight was awesome as well. diaz has no power though, should've been able to knock out gomi. i wonder why he didn't try the thai knees?
 
any word on what the hell was wrong with gomi? he gassed like halfway into the first round. i hate diaz, but i was really impressed with the googoplata (or however you spell it).

and lil nog got KTFO bad... my jaw dropped for that one.
 
Unfortunately, I'll have to download and watch it a week from now 🙁

I will hopefully find a place around Milwaukee to catch UFC next week though.
 
To the guy who said Diaz should have knocked out Gomi:

Yeah, because Gomi is easy to knock out. LOL.

Nick Diaz has tons of power in his hands, ask Robbie Lawler. He is more of an accuracy puncher and he knocked Gomi through a loop with the constant punches he was landing.

I mean, the guy hit an Omoplata to win the match. How often do you see that?

Nick Diaz tagged him good a few times and he got thrown through a loop. He did not gas, he was HURT. Nick Diaz has power in his hands, he just doesn't go for KO punches, he is more focused on accuracy.
 
Very good show all around. I was surprised at the number of upsets though.

poor wandy looked weak. I hope he gets a rematch.
 
No one mentioned that Lil' Nog got knocked out in 23 seconds. WTF was going on at the event??

henderson said he may want to take a shot at fedor. i respect henderson a whole lot, but... i think that's gonna be a huge mistake.
 
Over at Sherdog, the Gomi nuthuggers were out in full force with the "THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG WITH HIM!!!!" routine. Now I see that Silva's nuthuggers are using it as an excuse for losing too.

I have heard (strictly through Sherdog) that steroids are not frowned upon in Japan. Now whether they are legal or officials look the other way and they are just "accepted" is a big parrt of things. Silva looked out of shape and flabby. Maybe he was off the juice knowing he would be tested here? Who knows, but its funny that Prides top threee fighters all lose badly and look loike total crap in doing so.

I don't think he's washed up, but certainly past his prime. Ever since he entered the open weight GP at heavy weight he hasn't looked the same. Lounatik's steroid theory sounds plausible for why he looked particularly bad against Hendo though.
 
Silva has had problems the last few years. Yoshida pushed him to his limits, Arona, beat him twice, and Shogun would, in all likelihood, kick his arse as well. If Cro cop didn't break him Henderson just did.
 
AWESOME event! But in my opinion, Gomi looks like he just didn't train for the fight. I mean come on, he's a light weight and he looked like he gassed after 2:00 minutes of the FIRST round! I think he just got too cocky and thought he could get a quick knockout and didn't training. WRONG! All the other fights were great too!

Yeah seriously. I was impressed he got hit in the face so many times without going down though. Watch the Diaz post-fight interview from Sherdog; he's a funny guy.
