anyway to track users internet activity if we have no proxy server?

a user for our company recently logged into another machine late and night and was using it. we dont have any sort of proxy here that monitors websites and he cleared his cookies and temp files. is there anyway to track what websites he's been to? we've checked out the firewall but all we get is random ips which could mean anything(websites, banner ads, etc...).

Couldn't you set up a screen capture program to take shots at certain intervals? Perhaps set it up as you log off the computer for the day and deactivate it in the morning. I have no actual experience with this, I just remember reading about it somewhere....
