Anyway to test if a Power supply is working

I just built my 1st system. Plug everything in, turn it on...and get nothing. I took everything out redid the connections and still get nothing. No beeps, no fans, no nothing. Is there a way to see if the power supply is working. Its a ModXstream pro 600w.

There is a gizmo that you can buy at a place like Frys that you plug into on of the connectors & the PS (if good) will start.

Another possibility is to use a paperclip to externally start it, but be carefull.

use a paperclip and short the power on wire(your PSU will probably tell you on the side of it what wires do what) to any ground, it should power up.

Short PS_On# to ground and it should power up.

I would plug in a HDD or something that will draw a small amount of current first to put some sort of load on the PSU, but this is the method that I use.

Hook a case fan to it if you don't want to pull out a hard drive.
