I ordered a package on Sunday that said (ships within 24 hours) from amazon and then 5 days for shipping, I thought, fine I will be in town untill the 23rd so no problem

well now its 3 days later and it still hasnt shipped, but under amazon it says it is "shipping soon" so I cant change my order information.

they are now estimating arrival for the 21st-23rd

now the question is, no one will be at my apartment from the 23rd till about the 27th or 28th...this means that if they try and deliever it the 23rd, 24th, 27th they will get no responses from my apartment.

Anyway to tell them to hold it for me to pick it up?
anyone know how amazon sends thier packages when its free shipping (i was willing to do the free shipping because i thought it would still be here in time and its heavy so normal shipping was already $25+)

and there is no apartment office i can get it dropped off at, my landlord just lives in an apartment in the building

If it's the super saver crap, then you didn't read the fine print very well. Regardless of 24 hour status, super saver items don't have priority over regular orders, hence the long delay in getting it out of the warehouse.

But you do have a 66% change of getting it the 21st or 22nd. Play the odds.

Just talk to your landlord and see if he can pick it up and hold it for you, then leave a note for the delivery guy telling him to drop it there. I have done that before and haven't had any problems with it.
