im talking about 14.4 speeds. i have 3mb dsl. i need to have it done for testing purposes. i'd like to have it done on this pc specifically so i dont bog down the speed for others who are on my router.

Screw the other people on your router. It's not like surfing the web uses massive amounts of bandwidth anyways.

It's probably much more than you need, but VMWare has a feature to limit the speed of the virtual network connection to a specific amount.

You could always start uploading a ton of torrents with no upload speed limit.

Things should be crawling slow in no time 😉

lots of spyware, adware, viruses, trojans, worms... that may do it.... plus your pc at that matter

Some DSL packages provide a backup dialup account that can also be used when you're on vacation or whatever. You could just dial in to that, start a large service pack download, and then do whatever testing you need to do while that's running. 😉
