Anyway to send Coax over ethernet, or even power?

I have a cable outlet on the wrong side of my room, its in a horrid location. I don't have attic access (attached townhomes), and i need to get coax on the other side of the room. I suppose I could run cable under the carpet, but I've yet to see thin enough coax that wouldn't be noticed under the carpet.

So, is it possible to run coax over ethernet or power? I've seen the opposite, but never running coax over such mediums.

Do you own or rent?
Either way, it seems like you should be able to talk to an electrician or "cable installer guy"
(or the property owner, if renting) & have then re-locate the cable outlet. They might be
less likely to hassle you, if you offer to pay money (as opposed to: wanting to do the work
yourself).

CoAxial cable (coax) transmits signals that need shielding, both from external interference and from internal transmission of the signal. If you ran the signal from it directly into UTP wiring (as that is what ethernet is) you would turn it into a nice big antenna and transmit the signal so loudly that the FCC would be there within a few weeks. You would have to change the signal into an ethernet-compatible signal, the best, easiest way to do this would be to run a PVR at the end of the coax, but it would be even easier to just run a nice cable extension line to where you want.

COAX is a pretty unique cable in it's design.

Honestly talk to an electrician to see if they can run the cable for you. It would be well worth it, you're not going to find any thin coax cables, since their signal integrity depends 100% on their insulation.
