I have a parallel printer hooked up (via usb to parallel cable) to my usb port. In windows, the printer prints via the USB virtual port.

One piece of web software I'm using only lets me print to LPT1, LPT2, Com1, Com2, or COM3.

Is there anyway to trick my computer into thinking LPT1 is the virtual usb port?

Also, there is no parallel port or serial port on my pc. does this mean there will be no lpt1 or com1 port to begin with?

You asked the same question in Networking and I have given you a response there.

This link has some info that will be of help for what you want to do:

http://www.maplesoft.net/printissues.htm

If you need to do this all the time, add this to the Autoexec.bat
so it is run when the computer boots up.

Look for your answers. Double posts only confuse the issue.
