just got back from the beach and my back is killing me. All my relatives, all asian, they had no sunburn. I put on a lot of sunblocker, (spf45) and i still got burned.

Any way to make the pain go away beside letting time?

Aloe-vera guck. Met some girl studying to become a herbalist, witch, or something fairly similiar in Australia, and she swore by it. Best if you could buy a plant and crush one of its 'leaves', I suppose, but there's plenty of guck (lotions) based on it. I used it religiously on my feet after having in a wetsuit and goggles driven a water-scooter for 3 hours straight. Never seen feet so red. It did help soothe the pain though, and I suppose they healed a bit faster.

my mom had an aloe vera plant next to the grill just in case me or my dad would burn ourselves lol.

well, guess what, one day, i burned myself a bit (nothing serious..just redness on my arm..but it was annoyingly painful).

AFter I ran water through the wound,
I took the plant, and cut one of the thick leaves in half (are they leaves? it's like, thick stumpy leaves shooting from the ground), and squeezed out the juices on the affected area. It worked wonders.

I remember getting sunburned once. What did the trick was this mixture of aloe vera and lidocaine that I got at my local pharmacy. Most, if not all, of the big chains like Rite-Aid or Walmart should carry them, and they usually come in big bottles so that you can slather it all over the burns. Worked great when the skin wouldnt stop itching.

Aloe is the best burn treatment known to man.

Well, unless we've come up with synthetic aloe or something.

I once had a bad sunburn, used 99% aloe gel on it. OMFG, it made it itch soooo freakin bad I could not stand it. My family thought I had gone nuts it made it hurt so bad.

I got a mild burn today while out at Ocean Breeze with my family. It's not one of the screaming burns I sometimes get but my skin is definitely hot. You'd think living 5 minutes from the beach that I'd be permatanned and impervious to sunburns. Not so...

They get darker. When they peel they get pretty ashy, too. :) My friends at work joke each other when it happens to them.
