anyway to fix broken jpeg pictures?

I took pictures with my Canon and downloaded them on to my X-Drive, it's just like a Digital Wallet, basically a hard drive and a card reader so you can download them off a card without a computer. It turns out that some of the pictures are not showing up properly, there'll be an inch or so of the picture showing properly at the top and then it'll be some color the rest of the way down. Am I screwed or is there some way I can get the rest of the picture back? The format is in jpeg and they showed up perfectly on my camare's screen before I transfered them, plus the file sizes are close to what I'd expect.
 
Don't think so. 🙁 ICBW. You may try running some disk utils (ndd, chkdsk, scandisk, etc) on that card/drive. It may be able to fix some of them?
