Anyway to do a good HD wipe with only 1 drive?

I have an 80gb drive in my laptop that i am about to return to newegg.

Is there anyway to run any of those secure wipe programs with only that drive?

I don't have an external enclosure to put it in, so i can only have 1 drive in at a time.

Do they make any that run on cdrw that can wipe it?

I did a google search and came up with this. It looks like it will do the job but I have never used it myself. If it works for you, report back in the thread. Others would probably find it useful.

Yeah, try the CD .ISO version of DBAN.

Using DBAN, which level of wipe would be acceptable if im not donating or returning a drive. I basically just want to start with a fresh hdd.Will the DoD short (3 pass) be enough or the standard DoD (7 pass) be overkill?
