i try *69 to find out where its coming from, the number is private

Marketing calls? If you're in the U.S. register your number at www.donotcall.gov, then only charities can bug you at dinnertime heh.. If you've "displayed interest" in a product though (at least I think that's how they term it), they can call... in which case politely asking to be removed from their calling list can help.

i dont think its a marketing call, they keep asking me if i know someone that i have never heard of

There's not going to be much that you can do about that. You can try to speak with their supervisor and explain that you're tired of getting the calls, and that you'll consider filing harrassment charges (I've heard of a solution like this before) if they continue to call you. Oh, you'll want to document when they call in case you need to provide evidence.
