Anything wrong with drinking whole milk?

I'm 17 and I still drink whole milk and rarely ever drink any other kinds of milk. Then I read that most toddlers around 2-3 switch to lowfat milk...is there a reason? I'm already skinny so I don't need to switch to lowfat just because it's low in fat. But are there any other reasons why I should switch/stay?

I can't do dairy so I drink rice milk (Rice Dream). I'm a ricaholic anyways so I like it (not to be confused with a ricer ;))

When I was 17 I went through at least a quart of whole milk a night. Then I started getting cramps and I think now I am lactose intolerant. I believe that doing that caused me to use up all my lactate or whatever the chemical is that breaks up milk or whatever. That sucks. I still drink a lot of milk even though it hurts becuz nothing else goes with Oreos.:D

I drink whole milk. Chocolate does rule though. :) I can take 2% without any thought because its kinda the same to me, but move me to 1% and I ain't drinking it.

I can't stand the stuff myself (way too thick), but I also eat whatever I like without worrying about health concerns (though if it's an even opinion then I'll go with heathly over not). I gernally drink 2% whenever I'm drinking it (or eating with cereal and the like), and cook with 1% if milk is just an ingredient (for baking, pasta sauce, etc).

The concern is probably the fat content. If you have or will have high colesteron, it can be bad. I drink organic because i don't want to take growth steroids. For those of you who cant handle lactos, you can take pills or buy lactos free.

Non-fat milk. Everything else is a bit too thick. Besides, it's non-fat!

Skim is just the way to go. Once you drink it for a year or two, everything else is just too thick.

I grew up on nonfat milk, so drinking whole milk is like drinking goo. However, I'm pretty particular about my chocolate milk: 1%, 5 heaping tablespoons of Nesquick, 1/3 teaspoon of malt. Yummy.... (this coming from the guy that eats Nesquick out of the box)

It has to do with how much fat you want to consume:
Whole milk 8 grams of fat\8 ounces
2% fat milk 5 grams of fat\8 ounces
1% fat milk 2.5 grams of fat\8 ounces
Skim milk <0.5 grams of fat\8 ounces

I drink organic because i don't want to take growth steroids.

I guess you are buying milk from places that raise cows that were fed organically grown foods and no special hormones? Is that true? Does it actually say on the packaging what the differences are? I am picturing that simpsons episode where they make 3 different kinds of beers and it all comes from the same source with 3 different taps coming out of it.

Just curious what they mention on the package. I'll check out the refriged organic section of the grocery store next time. Last time I only saw rice milk and soy milk in there, nothing jumped out at me saying organic cow milk... but it doesn't surprise me it's sold.

I used to drink whole milk until I went to college, where I stopped drinking milk for a while. When I started again, I went directly to skim...and it didnt taste like water!
