I curretnly have a Toshiba CAS3 128MB PC133 SDRAM stick, but its hard to find this exact brand again becaues i bought it from a computer show. I'm planning on buying another stick of PC133 CAS3 128MB SDRAM again later today, but it won't be the same brand for sure.

Will different brands cause problems or performance lost, etc?

No, it shouldn't do anything bad. Just make sure both RAM sticks are able to run at the FSB speed and latency settings that you're using.

The only thing I can see the differance being is the O/C ability....
One brand might be a little better at Overclocking then another. But even with the same brand, it could be different capabilities...
Just make sure it's a perty good brand of the same speed and Cas #. You shouldn't have a problem.

Mixing RAM brands is usually safe, but I have encountered a few problems (BSOD, not booting) that I traced back to mismatched SDRAM brands. Different brands can have different timings on the SPD, and if the board reads those timings and sets them different for each stick, it can sometimes cause instability.

A good precaution is to set the BIOS timings for both banks manually (not "by SPD"). Use 133 MHz, CAS3, and be fairly conservative for everything else, but keep them the same for both banks.

So, let me ask this question:

Would generic brand PC133 performance equal that of BRAND NAME PC133 as long as you are running 100MHz FSB at cas3?

Any brand of RAM run under same clock speed and timings of any other brand of RAM will yield identical performance.

Stability and overclockability may vary, however, I have found generic RAM to be just fine in those categories.
