Heh, Rival pretty much has it right for what to do in Bloomington.
On the bright side though, you're less than an hour from Indianapolis. I've only spent one night in Indianapolis so other than the Indy500 track, I won't be much help there.
Hmm, there is a big casino down in Evansville if you are into gambling.
On the other side Chicago is 3 - 4 hours away. There are museums galore there, an aquarium, navy pier, sears tower. As for eats you of course have to hit Gino's East for some of the worlds best pizza.
My advice is spend your days off in Chicago, and your evenings in Indianapolis.
Here is one link I found quickly for Chicago.
You can probably find tons of em on the web though.

I am from Bloomington, so you're all wrong.

It depends on what you're into. There's a ton of restaurants, and with two colleges in town, there's no shortage of college bars. You can go to Peoria, about 35 miles away to the Paradise Casino, that's pretty cool. Chicago is about 2.5 to 3 hours away by car, but there are several trains that go back and forth several times a day. You may be able to catch a Hockey game in Peoria, and just north of town there's a topless joint called the Kappa.

It all depends on what you're in to. The town has about 100,000+ people in it, so whatever you want to do, it's probably here or close by.

You didn't say what company you were going to consult for, but what dept. of State Farm are you going to be working for?

:D

That's Para-dice casino. And yeah, State Farm pretty much dominates Bloomington.

I'm about an hour away in Champaign.

And Indianapolis is MORE than an hour away. It's about a three hour drive from Bloomington and a two hour drive from Champaign. Chicago is about two and a half hours from Bloomington.

As for what to do? Beats me. I'm still trying to figure that out :p

I went to ISU so I know what you mean :D

Bllomington/Normal are twin cities they're like 5 feet apart. Normal is where ISU is. There are plenty of college bars, and if you close the bar there's usually an after hours somewhere you can crash....

It's a college town so there will be something to do....
