anything that can help encode video on ATi cards?

i'm encoding my home movies finally (have loads to do) and they're all HD from a sony HD cam. I have a 5770 and was wondering if there's any software out yet to offload some of the processing work to the GPU?

i'm not even considering AVIVO since it is totally, absolutely, 100% crap.

anything else?

x264 is currently THE best encoder for video, every video card encoder that I've seen has been vastly inferior in quality vs x264.

Do yourself a favor and don't use a video encoder, instead, use faster settings with x264.

However, since it looks like you are probably encoding H.264 standard video, you might look into a video decoder for x264, that is usually one of the biggest bottle necks.

i'm using x264 now with MEGUI and am very happy with the quality but not the time it takes. i figured that a GPU encoder with a bit more bit rate might give comparable results.

decoding isn't a problem (of the encoded video - and the source is HD mpeg2 in a m2t container).

will give media espresso a gander thilanliyan :)
