I've been enjoying Diablo III and Path of Exile for a while. Right now since I have a newborn I can jump in and out and not worry about much.

Anything new coming out or maybe a game I missed lately? I've been really trying to avoid buying early access too..

Thanks

Have you tried Torchlight 2? It came out a bit after Diablo III and it's pretty awesome, done by the creators of Diablo and Diablo II if I'm not mistaken.

Give Grim Dawn a go and don't let the 'early access' on it fool you, it's more complete than a number of games out there.

Have you tried Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning? I own it, but haven't tried it yet. I've heard it's good.

What about Titan Quest (with its expansion, which I can't think of atm)? That game is very very good. If you've never tried it out, I highly recommend doing so.

Played the first one and stopped. Felt a bit boring to me.

I did the same, came back to it several months later and ended up finishing it and the second. Gets much better. Of course, some typical area clearing monotony, but overall a real good game.

I've been playing Grim Dawn early access. It is made by the same people that made Titan Quest. It appears to have the same engine, flaws and all. While not perfect, it is pretty good now.

Since this game isn't complete. When it is do you get the full game after completion or do you have to pay again?

You get complete game. They just update your version. The game has done so well, I believe they decided to add on an Act IV.

Also purchased Grim Dawn today after reading this thread. I don't like the quest system....but getting used to it.

What is multiplayer like and what is top level? I'm 13 or 14 now after only an hour or 2

The current cap is 40. There is also a veteran mode for more difficulty, and a "rogue" dungeon which has tons of boss fights in it, and requires a quest key to go in. Titan Quest had a level 75 level cap, which I never reached, so I assume the level cap will be raised at release.

The quest and story is a bit boring, but the skill system is good, and the combat is fun. Collecting good gear is also fun to do. If you complete every area and quest, you'll hit level 40 at about the same exact time you clear everything.

I'll third Grim Dawn.

I'd have to argue that a little. Yeah, it's definitely still got some of the same flaws but it runs far better than TQ in my experience.

You might have new hardware that has changed that. For me, there is no difference, except for one spot in the Titan Quest expansion that had bad stuttering, I get the same good FPS with a little stuttering here and there.

I've spent 60 hours (a ton for me) over the past month on Sacred 2. It's the best h&s game I've played.

I didn't care for the blocky art style of Torchlight (haven't tried TLII).

I loved Titan's Quest.

But Sacred 2 is the best of those, IMHO. It's fairly complex in terms of skill tree, combat calcs, etc. but that's what adds to the enjoyment. Once you figure it out and get used to it, it's awesome.

I'm playing as a Seraphim (battle angel) and she kicks serious ass. Lots of fun.

Lost Ark was linked to on here a little while ago. We don't really know anything about it (US release, MMO vs HnS, loot, etc) but it does at least look pretty slick. Might be worth keeping an eye on.

I haven't played it yet, but there was also "Gauntlet" released within the past year which was supposed to be decent I believe.
