What is the largest size batter one can purchase for a laptop. My laptop came with an 8 cell, but this computer is a beast, and sucks power like no other. I def should get an upgrade, for when i use my computer in class and stuff. HP has 12 cells, for 150 bucks, and i was wondering if there is even anything bigger than that? Ebay has the same one for like 75 bucks, can they be trushed? anyone know of any? and a good place to buy?
Thanks
Tyler

12 cell is the biggest I know of, and the battery bay is very space-limited. There might be some aftermarket batteries that hook into your AC jack and sit on your lap under the notebook, but I'm unsure about that.

A 12 cell battery gets you about two and a half hours of runtime in a normal use scenario, closer to four if it's just light use (and you turn off wireless). For a desktop replacement laptop, that's still excellent battery life.

how about just buying another one like you've got? I have 2 identical batteries and carry the spare (charged) in my bag.

Nothing bigger than 12-cell for HP's; in fact I've not seen <12-cell in laptops in general. More cells = larger size.

I might do that, it would at least double my time, and thats all in need to get through class and then some.

And HP does sell the 12 cells for my comp series they are just expensive.

I got the 12 cell with my HP dv1000, and also added a 6-cell as a spare. For most normal use, and especially travel, the 6 cell is much less of a load to carry.

I consider battery power for emergency use only. :)
