Anything I can do with these spare parts?

I have a Dell XPS m1710 with a fried vid card and I was wondering If there was anything I can take from it for my new desktop computer I recently built. Idk if it matters but my desktop's mobo is a MSI P67A-GD65. I took the hdd and put it in my desktop as a 2nd drive running ubuntu, I figured their prolly isnt anything else I can use but thought I would ask. And for the parts I can't use that are worth something is ebay my best option?

yep hdd is the only thing you can salvage from it. if you really want to gut it you can probably sell the memory, mainboard, and lcd screen on ebay.

what i would do though is take apart the laptop and get the fried video card. then look up the part number and look on ebay etc for the same part number.

I looked on ebay for a new/used video card on ebay, all VERY expensive (It would prolly have to be under $200 for it to be worth it at this point). I was just searching by video card type, how would searching by part number be different?

Oh, and the link doesnt have any for sale now anyway... How do I search for the laptop one? Its the Geforce 7950 I believe.

Yeah you want the mobile version for that lappy. Desktop card def wont work. Also searching for the chipset while using the laptop model in the search may help.

I did a fair amount of searching on ebay/amazon and the cheapest I could find was $110 for a used one that has not been tested if it is good. So even if it is good it will prolly just over heat and fry within months (mine fried twice in 3 years, and they were new...) I would like to get a refurbished one but they are all just too expensive (unless I go with the wimpy 256mb card, but I bought this thing as a gaming laptop...)

At this point Ive spent ~$1200 on my newly built desktop so I dont really have any extra cash to get the lappy working again.
