Anything I can do to make somebody bring Broadband down my street?

Basically when they were laying lines they didn't go down our street. I didn't care because I wasn't going to be here long, but now that those plans have changed I really need broadband. Also, I'd much prefer not to pay a zillionity dollars for direcway with a 2000 ping.

So all the other streets around you have broadband, but yours? Have you actually tried calling and asking?

Petitioning may work, may not.

Charter told my entire complex to take a hike, and they even have EMPLOYEES living there!

So everyone in my sub-division now has either DirecTV or Dish network and DSL.

I never called... kinda figured i'd get somebody in another country who doesn't speak english saying "give us your email and we'll let you know when it's available" I'm not sure about the streets surrounding mine, but I know a guy who lives about a mile and a half away w/ cable.

DSL would even be fine for me, dialup is the worst thing ever (other than no net at all)

Get a T1, resell via wireless to neighbors. Not great if you want the cheapest solution and if none of your neighbors are interested, or tons of foliage, but, it is an option... if you want to deal with headaches.

What about cellular coverage? Any options there?

If no one else on your street wants it.. then you're probably SoL. But if they do (or you can get them to say they do) then I'd call/petition the company and let them know that they are losing out on big business because they didn't extend their cable down your street....

Well the OP has now admitted he only knows of one individual a mile and a half away with cable. That's a pretty big expenditure for a company to put down the infrastructure for, for only a few paying customers. I doubt he'll have any luck.
