Anything I can do to check volume or mute in Vista?!

I've been looking into writing a script that can detect a user's volume level and whether or not it is muted in Vista.

I've looked into possible registry values associated with audio (this was a method for XP), but I don't think it's possible in Vista.

I've looked at WMI calls, but again I found nothing here.

Anyone know how to detect audio settings in Vista?

They have scripts that are capable of doing what you want and they can compile to an EXE.
The people there can probably explain exactly what you need to do.
