Anything I can do about the chipset fan on my K8N neo2 Plat?

the chipset fan on my MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum Motherboard is ridiculously loud. the default rpm is around 5100!!, so I usually run speedfan and turn it down to about 40%, but I'm looking for a permanent fix.

Any suggestions on a quiet replacement fan that will work on this board? How about just removing it? I'm assuming that would cause over heating issues?

edit: also, I don't do any overclocking on the board and it's running a A64 3500

I've used this Zalman northbridge heatsink on my Asus AN8 SLI-Deluxe for the past two years with heavy overclocking. You can see it at installed in this pic. There are other Zalman NB fanless coolers that would also work well.

Jab-tech.com (I highly recommend them:thumbsup: ) has a nice selection of Zalmans and others.
