Anything ever going to be done about this?

Immoral?
Let's not get too carried away here.

Apparently though, based on the bannation handed out, i guess that is against the rules...it'd help having them stated more clearly...

Why are rules against doing something that you know is illegal required?

Explain please?

And what "proof" do you have that the info being shared is illegal? 😕

The fact that they won't post links to whatever it is that they're downloading is a pretty big indicator of something illegal.

Wow. So the fact that you don't have proof is proof? 😕

Well, it's obvious what they're doing, but only they and mods could possibly know if it was illegal or not because I bet most of the true "proof" of their intentions were shared via PM.

It's certainly not illegal to use BitTorrent. It's not illegal to discuss trading links to websites that offer torrent downloads. However, when links to sites are being traded that are known for heavy piracy and shere disregard for copyright law, it's just too much to ignore, considering the rest of the conversation. It was pretty damn obvious to me, as it should be to anyone else who reads the thread and knows what BitTorrent is -which that's not a secret either so, I don't see how anyone could not basically guess what they were up to.

Props to the mods for upholding the rules, handing out bans, and discouraging illegal activities.

I'm sure lots of people have legitly used BT for something. Although flawed, it is a viable way to push files to people. However, beating around the bush is just not going to work here. We all know how many people on these forums use BT illegally. Hell I wouldn't be surprised if the mods did. But that doesn't mean it's acceptable on a forum for a website that is supposed to be a respectable hardware news site. Shady business is shady business, you don't need wide open proof to know when people are hiding something. Play poker sometime.
