You could probably find a better truck and a cheaper one at any salvage yard for less than $500

also, if you do plan on doing 2 way, go with a no-name place, saves even more...

confirmed.

when we moved, our Budget truck reservation "mysteriously" vanished from their system leaving us frantically looking for moving trucks for thanksgiving weekend which we were informed was the busiest moving weekend of the year.

we found a no-name place in the phonebook and it was much cheaper than any of the brand name places.

Just used Penske to move my mother 1100 miles... It was only 1200 with the damage insurance. And it was a good thing too... morons tried to claim I hit something - there was red paint on the aluminum strip. Their reasoning - because everything else was "meticulously marked on the check out slip". N/m the fact that I made them put on 2 dents, and numerous scratches on there. They found 1 gouge on the fiberglass on the check out - they had overlooked everything else. And to boot, it was supposed to have a "full tank" even though it had a little more than 1/2 a tank. BTW, 1/2 a tank = 60$+...

You can get a better rate on Penske online and if you have AAA it will stack on top of the online discount.

Edit - BTW, our "new" Penske truck was electronically goverened to 70mph - major PITA.

Edit 2 - Oh, and the lovely in-duh-vidual tried to get me to sign an accident report that said "driver unaware of hitting anything". I refused to sign it. That sounds as if I accept that something was hit while I had it. Told her I would sign one, "driver claims not to have hit anything". She tried to tell me I "had to" sign it. We got into a brief discussion of what I have to do and what I don't. She rewrote it...

Pickup some day laborers at the street corner, they can haul 50x their own weight.

Then bring them to the local INS office and watch them scatter like roaches.
