Hey I have been going to different custom laptop sites such as Sager, Cyberpower PC, LPC Digital, and Xotic PC trying to find a good gaming laptop for around 1500-1800(not including software). So far the best I can find is the Sager NP8250-S on Xotic PC which after customizing it has:
- 4th Generation Intel® Haswell Core™ i7-4700MQ (2.4GHz - 3.4GHz, 6MB Intel® Smart Cache)
- NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 780M 4,096MB PCI-Express GDDR5 DX11
- 16GB - DDR3 1600MHz Dual Channel Memory
- 750GB 7200RPM [Serial-ATA II 300 - 16MB Cache]
- 6x Blu-Ray Reader / 8x DVDRW Super Multi Combo Drive
I am considering purchasing this computer asap, but I am wondering if there are any better deal currently that I may have overlooked. I am wanting something with a equivalent or better CPU, and a GTX 780m or better or a AMD equivalent.

What is your price range? A $4-5k laptop with a desktop CPU and TWO 780m's is going to beat the hell out of that laptop, but it will cost you a lot more, you didn't really give us any details at all.

A fully tricked out NP9570 will cost you about $5.7k
17.3" 120Hz Full HD 1920x1080
Dual Nvidia GeForce GTX 780M
Intel® Core™ i7-3970X Processor Extreme Edition ( 15MB L3 Cache, 3.50GHz / 4.0GHz in Turbo Mode, 6 Cores )
Windows® 7 Ultimate 32/64-Bit Edition
32GB Quad Channel DDR3 SDRAM at 1600MHz - 4 X 8GB
Three 480GB Crucial M5 Series SATA3 Solid State Disk Drive
6X BD-R Blu-ray Burner/8X DVD±R/2.4X
Killer™ Wireless-N 1103 - 802.11A/B/G/N Wireless LAN Module

I highly doubt you have the money to blow on a laptop like this however it DOES answer your question of if there is anything better, the answer is yes, and most people can't afford it.

Tell us your budget and we can actually provide some useful information.

There's actually a market for this thing? Same people buying noisier pipes for their Harley's?

You might want to reconsider getting a laptop. Any laptop with that level of power is going to be "movable" but not that portable--the battery life is probably about an hour, it runs super hot and super loud, and it'll weigh like 10 pounds. That's just not fun to carry around.

That kind of money will get you a desktop with 2 GTX 770s, and a nice monitor (or a single 770 and a really nice 1440p monitor).

I purchased a Fangbook from CyberPowerPC a couple months ago... I am very impressed with it, but as the dude above me said.. it's not so portable... but I tote it in a backpack or a messenger bag without trouble.

The battery life is actually pretty good thanks to optmus, I can mess around with word while streaming hd netflix for a good 4 - 5 hours unplugged. Sure there is a lot better out there for battery life, but that's not why you're looking at a gaming laptop, is it?

Either way, I definitely recommend that Sager above. Along with anything based on MSI barebones as well. It's all quality stuff, just get something that has the things you want at a good price (ssd's will always be cheaper to add later.. and these machines will have enough room for at least 2 hdd's) .

Good luck!

Thanks for all the feedback guys! I decided to go ahead with the the Sager NP8250-S. It seemed to fit all my needs the best, I was looking for a desktop replacement that was still small enough to take to my college classes. And as for weight I don't see 7-8 pounds as being a problem considering it will have my books on it which weigh a lot more. But once again thanks for taking the time to reply.
