Anything better than the Fanmate to control a single fan?

I need to control the fans on my Gelid GPU cooler (a single 3-pin connection). My case fans are all plugged into the motherboard headers and controlled via BIOS.

Will probably go with the Zalman Fanmate 2, but does anything better exist for a single/simple fan setup? I could always get a 12v-to-7v inline adapter for fixed speed but like the tuning feature of the Fanmate.

not at that size and has a vario option along with a nice looking package.

you could dyo it but it would be bulkier, and uglier.
