Anything better than Skype?

I'm new to the whole internet telephony stuff (that's free and much cheaper than regular telephone), but I just recently found out Skype and it seems to be great. But is there anything better than Skype in terms of ease of use, popularity, reliability, security, etc?
 
It's my favorite internet telephone, especially because of the free calls ANYWHERE until the end of the year. 😛
 
i've used Skype and MSN messenger for video & just audio.

i prefer MSN messenger. maybe i just enjoyed those phone sessions more. i don't know.

is there an encrypted version available, of a similar product ?
