Well I have w2k server running as my network server. Right now I have it setup so that my other pcs logon to it using domain login. Saddly my logon scripts are not pulling with the usernames. This is not really that important at the moment.

Truly I have lots of things I need to fix with w2k fast, I have many ports open etc etc, just alot of tightening to do.

To make matters worse Im really new to w2k server, so what I was hoping you could help with was reccomendations for where to begin to learn this. I personally prefer a good book and was wondering if anyone could reccomend one? Also websites would be great in helping me too, I have been using microsofts technet thus far. Any other ideas?

Thanks very much

I'm pretty new to Win2K server too, I'm setting up a webserver right now using it. Some good books I've found are the MCSE training manual, or whatever they're calling their certification now. Also, I haven't actually read it, but the Windows 2000 Server Administrator's companion is supposed to be very good as well.

Also, if you're not too worried about security, install Terminal Services, they are a life saver, to be able to change things on the server easily from your own desktop, it's really helped me, so I don't have to run from room to room to try things and change things.

Technet is probably one of, if not the best resource out there for Win2k Server. Where did you save your logon scripts too? What is the path to them?
