Anythin Missing?

I have ordered the following parts to build a pc---Please let me know if I am missing anything(except OS, keyboards,monitors,mouse)...

Harddrive
memory
CDRW
floppy
heatsink fan
sound and video card
motherboard
modem
network cards
case

Those are very general terms...but I'll work from here.


1. I"m assuming the case comes w/case fans, right?
2. If your motherboard has a built-in NIC (also known as onboard LAN) you won't need to buy a separate NIC.
3. Modem is nice to have for backup purposes, but most people that have broadband don't/won't pay extra to keep a dialup connection...I don't...so you may want to eliminate the modem and save $10.
4. It looks like you're buying the OEM version of the CPU (comes w/o a HSF) and then buying a separate HSF. You may be able to save a few bucks by purchasing the RETAIL package of the CPU, which comes with an AMD approved HSF. Granted, depending on which aftermarket HSF, you will get slightly better cooling, but the stock HSF does a decent job.

That's all I can think of...anyone else?

The only things I could think of are:

-- Do you want or need a DVD drive or burner
-- What ports are on the mother board? You might need a PCI card for 1394 or USB 2.0 if you need those ports and they aren't standard
on the mother board
-- And what MichaelD stated first - Does the case come with fans? If not puchase at least an intake and exhaust fan.

Is your case coming with an AMD approved power supply? I'd recommend at least 300W of good clean power, 400 if you plan to expand your system in the future. A quiet model is a plus.

DOH! I forgot the most important part!! YES! A quality PS is a must. Dont' waste time and money on a "bargain" case...there's a reason why it's only $12.

Get any flavor of Antec case. The PSs' are great, they come with case fans...you'll be GTG.
