You can legitimately doubt the placement of Christmas (Saturnalia repurposed) but Easter is placed by biblical reference. All the crucifixion stories date the events related to Passover.

Fine, but what do plastic eggs filled with candy have to do with Easter?

"Easter eggs" are a completely secular idea.

This is just plain stupid.

My post was in response to shiner's doubt about the calendar placement of Easter, not the underlying symbolism of the eggs.
Also, FWIW, Easter eggs are a recycled pagan fertility symbol, not a secular creation.
