Anyone's chipset Fan Die on thier Abit KT7 yet?

My chipset fan died today after making lots of noise for a few weeks. The blades apparently broke away from the shaft. I just took the whole thing off and aimed an 80mm fan at it for now. Time for a blue orb and just leave it off? Seem cool to me with no fan, and no other manufacturer uses one on the same chipset.
 
I've had one so far (out of about a dozen) that's been making a lot of noise. Other than that, they've all been fine.
