anyone work with concrete?

i found some concrete columns that i'd like to put on my patio to support an arbor.

however, the guy wants $499 each - they're just round hollow concrete sections stacked on each other (2-3ft each).

Also, the base and top are made from ornamental concrete molds.

I've seen some neat things done w/concrete and wondered if anyone had any experience doing it.

I don't do any really neat stuff personally, but there are some amazing things done these days...

oh, and you can find a lot of cool resin and plastic columns these days....keep looking.

not sure how much you will save compared to his price though., Afer his markup, and shipping costs, I'm sure it's a fair deal....

yeah... he was just the first guy i went to... i'm buying a few pallets of flagstone for a new patio and he had these columns out front

I just fininshed building an arbor, but it wasn't with concrete. Unless you're dead set with concrete, I personally think Western Red rough cedar is the most attrative. 6x6 posts with a 6x8 beam looks really nice.
