I am an IT Asset Manager for a software company that employs ~5K with Gross Sales ~1B (Billion), I have a staff of five, six figure income, bonus, & stock options. Ive been doing IT Asset Management for ~15 years so don't let anyone tell you its boring... We use HP's Asset Manager software that cost ~300K for the suite and discovery tools. If you like solving problems, doing research, monitoring ROI, and generally providing your company visibility into the 'what do we own' and 'how can we save money?' then you may like this career. In addition, its a niche role where you don't compete against a dozen others in a single organization. Do your own research, check out job boards for descriptions, duty's and salary's. The right job in this field can be very rewarding, or... you could be dude waiting for FedEx...
